The Patachou Foundation

Marcy Village

Project Overview

The Patachou Foundation prepares and serves healthy meals to children impacted by poverty and hunger and increases their awareness, connection, and excitement about food. Boaz Construction partnered with The Patachou Foundation on their new headquarters in the historic Marcy Village community.

The older building involved for adaptive reuse as it had never been used for food and beverage before. The project was comprised of creating spaces for three separate uses: an open to the public cafe, offices and a teaching area for the foundation, and a commercial kitchen for the foundation’s food production.

Project Highlights

Adaptive Reuse

Boaz Construction tackled many challenges during construction of this older building, which needed code updates and expanded utility lines. Structural work was performed to reinforce the building and create new means of egress.

Millwork

All millwork for the cafe and offices was custom fabricated by Boaz Millworks, including countertops, tables and cabinetry.

Building Science

The Boaz team focused on creating a bulletproof environment in the commercial kitchen, so the Foundation would be empowered to do their work in the community for years to come. Materials were carefully selected to ensure that nothing would mold, rust, or break.
